Today's been more emotional than I thought it would.
Whew! Here we go.
Tonight we say farewell to a Chicago Legend. A true icon. He graced our TV screens for fourteen incredible seasons.
And grace is the word of the day.
Because you, my dear @laroycehawkins, did this with absolute grace. You learned from, taught, loved everyone on that set with a fierce passion. I've never seen anything like it.
And I want you to give yourself grace as you navigate a new reality. A new chapter. You deserve every beautiful thing that solidifies in front of your eyes.
I am so excited for you.
I am beyond proud of you and beyond honored to know you. Thank you for treating me like an absolute Queen through the whole thing. I am forever your family. And you are mine.
Let's give our guy the farewell he deserves, tonight at 9c.
Job well done my friend. Until next time✨

You know what time it is when you see this photo😂 Me and God have had some hard conversations these last months. If you're in this industry... you know. I was like wait I thought YOU told me to do this? That's why I'm here?? Hello? lol And basically he told me to just relax. Let go. Persevere. And I said okay. But then I was like hey real quick... I know this is kind of not relaxing, but I just have one favor. So, you know I do great with signs, G. If you still want me to do this just let me book one of these two auditions I turned in. Next day I was on hold for a Netflix show. Ended up not getting it. It made sense, and I was just happy to be considered. And honestly, I would have taken that as my sign. But I was like Netflix would be just amazing. And then my agent called and said not only will I be on Netflix but I'll be working with Tyler Perry✨ And there will be more on that, but being on TP Studios is something every person should experience. We have watched this man build and build. And that lot is the physical manifestation of cutting out the noise and believing in yourself and listening intently to God. I can go on and on but I'm simply left inspired. Thank you @tylerperry thank you @netflix 🤍 Look at all these beautiful black woman on this announcement! THAT makes my heart so full.
