I Woke Up Happy Seeing Tinubu in Mecca; That’s Why We Support Muslim-Muslim Ticket — Islamic cleric Sheikh Jingir Says, as He Praises President tinubu

Prominent Plateau State-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, saying the President’s appearance in the sacred attire demonstrates the equality of Muslims before Allah, regardless of their social or political status.

In a video clip seen by Peoples Gazette, Jingir expressed happiness at seeing Tinubu in Mecca, noting that the President, ministers, governors and ordinary workers wear the same clothing during the pilgrimage.

“I woke up very happy that I saw Ahmed Bola Tinubu at Mecca. He is in Umrah. Who is president of Nigeria now? Ahmed Bola Tinubu,” he said.

The cleric said the pilgrimage strips individuals of their positions and privileges, making everyone equal before God.

“They have to strip the power of everyone and be equal. The President and labourers are equal. If not because we did Muslim Muslim, will our president go to Umrah,” Mr Jingir said.

He further claimed that Nigeria would have experienced turmoil if someone from another faith had emerged as President.

Speaking about religious tolerance, he said: “If an infidel gets angry and insults me, I will tell you good things. I can’t cheat you. Either you are a Muslim or not. God stopped me from cheating others. He stopped me to lay down to be slaughtered.”

Jingir also declared his support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, saying his vote and those of the labourers in his household would go to the President.

“The election that will happen. My vote is one and the labourers’ vote in my house is one. They will vote for the President,” he said.
