“Be my voice. I am a young person with so many hopes and dreams. All I want is justice and a chance to defend myself.”

Najmeh Amini, a 23-year-old Iranian accounting student, has been sentenced to death on a charge of “blasphemy” over a social media post deemed insulting to the Prophet Muhammad.

Under Article 262 of Iran’s Islamic Penal Code, insulting the Prophet Muhammad or other divine prophets is punishable by death.

In a separate case, the Mashhad Revolutionary Court sentenced her to more than 12 years in prison on charges including “acting against national security” and “propaganda against the regime.”

Amini was arrested by security forces at a shopping center in Mashhad following online monitoring by Iran’s Cyber Police (FATA). She is among more than 50,000 people who were arrested during the nationwide protests, according to HRANA.

In an audio message from Mashhad Central Prison, Amini appealed to the international community, lawyers, and human rights organizations to review her case and help secure her right to a fair trial.

👉 Sentencing people to death for alleged “blasphemy” is a flagrant violation of international law, a fundamental assault on freedom of expression, and an appalling abuse of state power.

👉 Iran is one of the world’s leading executioners, second only to China. According to Amnesty International, at least 2,159 people were executed in Iran last year.

✨ FIVE YEARS OF NBA TODAY!!!! ✨

On October 18, 2021, we launched a new daily NBA show. I was so nervous. I came from a print reporting background and had never hosted a TV show before.

Five years in, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that we’re all waiting for the moment when it clicks, when we feel we’ve arrived and achieved excellence.

But the real magic is in the daily deposits: the work you put into your craft, the care you bring to the people around you, and the ways you make someone feel heard and valued. And I think that’s true far beyond TV. That adds up and ultimately shapes who we are.

I’m so proud of everyone you see on your screen and the exceptional producers behind the scenes who are the backbone of our show. And to everyone who has made us a part of your afternoon: thank you. You’ve become a part of our family, too. 🤎

Three years in Charlotte and still chasing the forecast! ⛈️

Today marks THREE years at WBTV and three years of calling the Queen City home!

To my WBTV family and everyone who has welcomed me into their homes through the TV screen, thank you. Your kindness, support, and encouragement mean more than you know 🩵

Charlotte, you’ve given me so much to be grateful for, and I’m so happy this chapter of my life brought me here.

Here’s to year four, whatever the weather brings! ⚡️❄️🌪️🌈

Lokrum island is very popular with Dubrovnik tourists, because a it's just a very small ferry ride away from the old town. Not suprisingly also a Game of Thrones filming location, there was even an exhibitiin room about the series in the monastery with the iconic throne.

In the 2nd picture you can see the road where a certain scene was taking place - according to google, since I've never seen the series 😜

By the way climbing that mountain in the heat under the 1 PM sun was not easy, I felt that my head was pounding with every heartbeat when I arrived to the top. (To be fair it was in september) I love heat, bit it was tough 🥵☀️

That's why I planned the beach to the end of the day to have as a cooling reward.

The rules were crazy back then. #midterms #officelife
