The magic carpet ride continues with the pinnacle of the quiver. The @wintersticksnowboards Swallowtail. In the spring of 2006 I was lucky to get invited on a dream trip to @cmhgalena for the Transworld Snowboarding Powder Board Test with @hamiltonick @kurt_hoy and @bryaniguchi. We had 50 boards and a handful of free Heli days 🚁 The trip forever changed the way I looked at board shapes. On the final few runs I finally mounted up the 183 Swally and had my mind blown. It felt like a tiny twin fin I had been surfing in those days and reminded me of skating mini ramp playing on windlips. You could stomp any landing and float through the deepest snow. These days my 173 split/solids come out for the deepest days and I always feel like I am reconnecting with the feelings of the early high performance powder riding that Dimitrije Milovich pioneered in the 70’s when he and his crew in Utah just called it Sticking.
