Thanks to all the love and support around me,
I have been blessed to celebrate another birthday today.

To my family,
thank you from the bottom of my heart
for bringing me into this world,
for raising me,
for always cheering me on, no matter what,
and for loving me.

And to everyone I have had the privilege of meeting along the way,
thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

And one more thing…
Thank you to the person I was until yesterday.

49 years old…
My final year in my forties begins.

I usually forget about my age in everyday life,
but somehow, knowing this is my last year in my forties
feels a little surreal.

There have been times when I have wondered
if I have been living my life the wrong way,
if I have really achieved anything at all,
why I was born,
and why I am here.

Sometimes, I have even lost sight of the
meaning of life…

At other times, I have found myself wondering
where my soul truly resides,
feeling as though this body is merely a vessel.

And yet…

This is who I am.

A friend once said to me:

“Kumi, you are curious about so many things, and when something catches your interest, you keep going until you truly understand it.

I have a feeling that the many little dots you have been connecting throughout your life may soon begin to come together as one beautiful picture.”

Those words saved me in a way.

They helped me realize,
maybe the way I am is just fine.

And yes…

I remembered the message I shared from the stage that day:

“With gratitude in my heart,
I will live my life to the fullest,
forever beautiful, true to myself.”

This is the very spirit I wish to embody.

With new dreams and goals to pursue,
my journey continues.

With gratitude in my heart,
and guided by the many precious connections and encounters life brings my way,
I will continue to embrace new challenges
and follow the path that is uniquely mine.
