Free weights vs. machines: the great debate.

For decades, we were told serious lifters need free weights. But a recent meta-analysis of 14 studies found free weights offered no advantage over machines for strength, muscle size, or power. That holds true whether you’re brand new or very advanced.

Plus, machines can do things free weights can’t (hello, leg extensions) and variable resistance may build even more strength.

The bottom line: machines work, free weights work. It’s not the tool, it’s how you use it.

This is like admitting that horses work as a means of transportation versus a Ferrari as a chosen means of transportation????? Horses are not machines obviously Ferraris are!!!!!!!
