I have always been passionate about breastfeeding and returning to work ❤️ I have written various articles, been interviewed, become a Breastfeeding Champion at work and helped many mums continue to feed when they have returned from maternity leave 🥰
I was fortunate enough to continue nursing both my children each time when I returned to work before they were one. Without the right support, facilities, breaks and knowledge I wouldn't of reached my nursing goal of two years 🤱
Don’t Make Me Choose is campaigning for statutory workplace rights for breastfeeding women in the UK! We are calling on the Government to introduce a legal right to seven practical protections:
1. Paid expressing breaks
2. Paid reduced working hours as an alterative
3. Time treated as working time
4. A private hygienic space. NEVER a toilet
5. Safe storage for expressed milk
6. Protection from detriment
7. No arbitrary breastfeeding-age cut-off

Did you continue breastfeeding when you returned to work?

I feel I was lucky as I worked in the NICU so we had a dedicated expressing room and lots of @ardomums_uk pumps, but this is not the case for a lot on mums returning to work while continuing to breastfeed

I’m planning to express when I go back in January, 15 hrs away from my baby is going to be so hard, for 2days a week x
