Local Roots

🍃 It literally takes a village to grow native Irish trees. This is the 3rd year in a row that the transition year students from the @iskillorglin come out every week during the school year to help us out on site.

🌳 This is a busy time of the year with seed collecting and processing, so they gave us a hand with the Rowan aka Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) which was collected from Cronin’s yard at the foot of Carrantuohill (with permission from the owners).

💚 Hopefully these will be the last berries to be processed by hand as our new tool has arrived. Stay tuned!

💚🌳 Would you like to get involved in growing future Irish native forests? Join us for our monthly Community Day, Saturday the 8th of November from 10-4pm, sign up see link in bio. Or would you and your company like to get involved? Send us an email [email protected] and we can talk more.
