⚽ WHAT PEOPLE SEE vs. WHAT PEOPLE MISS. 👀

When we see a female referee on the pitch, our attention tends to focus on her decisions, her focus, and the way she manages the match. We see a professional who must be prepared for every action and respond with confidence during high-pressure moments.

But there is much more behind the uniform. 📸

There are also smiles, a relatable nature, moments off the pitch, and a personal side that we don’t always see during those 90 minutes.

Today, with Katia Itzel García 🇲🇽, we want to shine a light on both sides of the same person: the international referee representing Mexico in football, and the individual behind every decision, every match, and every whistle.

Because behind every professional, there is a story, a personality, and moments that deserve to be seen. Showing this more human side is also a way to bring the world of refereeing closer to the fans. ❤️

What do people see… and what do they miss?

“I wanted to 𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐬 for my words during World Cup. They were a mistake. Both the way I said them and the timing, it was a mistake from me — I am sorry”, told Movistar.

“Especially because I understand why the fans were angry. 𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐢𝐟 𝐈 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐧”, Álvarez added.

“Even more so considering how much they’ve supported me. They’ve been very generous — and I really appreciated that”.

“I also want to thank the team because they’ve supported me throughout this time. 𝐈’𝐦 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫, grateful to all my teammates because they’ve supported me”.

“I’m working to improve. I’ve been feeling better in the last few matches, both physically and on the ball as I want to help the team and give my best”.

“When you’re feeling good in life, it shows on the pitch. Even though we’re professionals, everything has an influence. I feel 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 with Atlético”.

“Hopefully, through hard work and humility, I can turn this situation around”.

Family feud: You’re not the 1st child. You have been given 4 choice flats and medical support — Billionaire Okoya’s Family tackles Fatai

The family of billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya has disputed Fatai Okoya’s claim that he is his father’s first child, insisting that he is the third child.

In a statement signed by Nathaniel Omeninwan, senior public relations manager of Eleganza Industries Ltd, the family responded after Fatai publicly sought forgiveness and reconciliation with his father following 40 years apart.

Fatai had described his father’s rejection as painful and accused Shade Okoya, his father’s wife, of preventing him from seeing the industrialist on his birthday.

However, the family denied the allegations, claiming Fatai had received substantial financial support, including four flats in Lagos and assistance with medical bills.

“The Okoya family finds it regrettable that Fatai Okoya (who is in fact the third child of Aare Rasaq Okoya, CON) has dragged what are otherwise private family matters into the public domain to attract public sympathy, gain attention and unjustifiably discredit other family members,” the statement read.

The family added that Fatai’s disagreement with his father began long before Okoya married Shade.

“Fatai Okoya has benefited immensely from his father and continues to benefit. He lives in, and has been given, four flats by his father in Ogunlana Surulere, and has at times been receiving payment for his medical bills,” it stated.

On the allegation against Shade, the family said she did not prevent Fatai from seeing his father during the birthday medical outreach, claiming several guests witnessed their encounter.

Hard truth…
you look like your habits, not your stack.

If “more” was the answer… then why don’t more people walk around with impressive physiques?

Don’t get me wrong- performance enhancement is great if used properly. But build the habits & lifestyle worth enhancing.

In a Week 7 state of mind 🗽
