EVEREST BASE CAMP BABY!!! 8 days trekking through the Himalayas and we’ve finally reached 5,364m. It’s been an emotional 48 hours! There were points where it genuinely looked like it might be game over. Altitude running riot. Sickness. Major fatigue. The doubts were definitely creeping in. The night before our final push we all sat down and had a big chat about what everyone had been through just to make it to the start line. And not only did it have me and @jamiecpic blubbering, it reminded me of what real bravery looks like. It’s easy to back yourself when you know you can do it. Easy when the odds are stacked in your favour. But what about when they’re not? Who’s really still about it This was a team full of people who (on paper) had every reason to doubt themselves. But they said yes anyway. And that same spirit that pushed them to say yes in the first place carried them through every difficult moment, every time they wondered what the f*ck they’d signed up for, and eventually all the way to the base of the highest mountain in the world. The people who find out what they’re capable of are the ones willing to risk finding out they can’t!
