What I wore in Paris - fall edition is now up on stubstack and YES everything is linked!
Sunday vibes with the ultimate weekend warrior, my @cwcwatch Ti300 titanium diver 💪🏻 I decided it's time to show some love to my Tamron 28-75mm zoom lens as recently my Canon nifty fifty prime lens has absolutely dominated my photography. What I love about the two lenses is the different characteristics and feel they provide. The 50mm is naturally epic for bokeh; whereas the Tamron offers such richness of colour and ability to capture a more natural feel. Variety is the spice of life after all... #cabotwatchcompany #cwcti300 #britishmilitarywatches #divewatch #militarydiver
It’s a bumper crop for new movies on the big screen. Anyone complaining there’s nothing to watch is not paying attention. ‘Digger’: Go see this on the big screen while you still can. I went in cold on opening night and found it beguiling, confounding, but incredibly thought-provoking. I’ve thought about it every day since. Last night, I went to see it again in a packed house. A hugely ambitious, stunningly made movie with extraordinary performances, not least Tom Cruise. It’s definitely a film to see and discuss. I really do hate the pile-on when a film doesn’t make the money people hoped. The ongoing ‘sportification’ of movies through discussions of budgets, grosses and break-even points, mostly by people who haven’t even seen the film, is so tiresome. Why not see the film, then discuss it? Either way, go and see ‘Digger’. 'Resident Evil’: Zach Cregger’s film was a blast. For me, the best video game adaptation in film, by recreating the amusing and exciting experience of playing a game for the first time. And badly. Watching Austin Abrams try and fail for 90 minutes is hugely entertaining. ‘Buddy’: I loved Casper Kelly’s film. The first 20 minutes had me howling. Then things take a even stranger turn. Much like his genius ‘Too Many Cooks’, I had an absolute ball. Already a cult classic. One sight gag recalling ‘The Wizard of Oz’ is my favourite of the year. You’ll know it when you see it. ‘Primetime’: Fantastic. The second Lance Oppenheim film I’ve loved in the last month. Robert Pattinson gets another fascinating role between his teeth. I loved the multimedia approach to editing and cinematography, harking back to peak Oliver Stone. A full AMC on a Monday night, too. Grown-up movies are back. ‘The History of Concrete’: I loved John Wilson’s HBO show, so I was in heaven for another surprising, idiosyncratic odyssey. Funny, sad and beautiful, sometimes all at once. It’s also put me off chewing gum for life. We’re spoilt for choice right now. Even this very weekend, you have both ‘I Can See Everything’ and the uncut version of Ken Russell’s ‘The Devils’ playing. Both incredible movies, and that’s not even the half of what’s playing. Viva the big screen!
Keep jullie posted.
