I keep staring at my medal, I am so proud of completing the
@longbeachmarathon Half Marathon
This was my 2nd Half ever, the first being the Pasadena Half Marathon back in January this year. I had worked so hard to build the endurance and distance that time. I even worked in a 13.1 mile long run during peak week, just to make sure I could do it before going into the race.
This time around, I knew I could do it. I had built up the confidence. I worked through the sweltering heat and high humidity all Summer. I got comfortable feeling uncomfortable. I changed my weightlifting routine to specifically cater to running, so every muscle in my legs would get stronger.
I am proud of every race I do because 2 years ago, I never thought any of it was doable. But this one, I especially feel pride in. I trained with the heart of a champion. I am not the fastest. But I don't need to be. I trained so on race day, I do it with ease. With a smile on my face the whole 13.1 miles.
