This concludes our race season! @alhambrapumpkinrun is a flat course and I was going for a sub-hour 10k which I just barely missed, but the Pumpkin Run is always such a blast that it doesn't even matter πŸŽƒ Still proud of my split time though, hauled ass down the course and it felt exhilarating by @riga__mortis

Dedicated to my husband, Kevin. He inspired me 15 years ago to start lifting weights. Through my newly found interest in health, I eventually quit smoking and lost interest in drinking. 2 years ago, he started running. We always did cardio in the gym but hated it. He did research, discovered zone 2, and basically unlearned everything we were taught in school on how to run. This peeked my interest since I never liked the "run till you puke" mentality. We started running together in the early mornings and once again, he completely changed my life. He told me then that I'd become a better runner than him, which I did not believe, but was motivated to become just as good. Together we completed our 2nd Half Marathon at the @longbeachmarathon ! I never thought this was possible because I wasn't given the proper tools. But Kevin FINDS the tools. I'm fortunate to be his partner and have someone to go on this journey with. πŸ’• by @riga__mortis

I keep staring at my medal, I am so proud of completing the @longbeachmarathon Half Marathon This was my 2nd Half ever, the first being the Pasadena Half Marathon back in January this year. I had worked so hard to build the endurance and distance that time. I even worked in a 13.1 mile long run during peak week, just to make sure I could do it before going into the race. This time around, I knew I could do it. I had built up the confidence. I worked through the sweltering heat and high humidity all Summer. I got comfortable feeling uncomfortable. I changed my weightlifting routine to specifically cater to running, so every muscle in my legs would get stronger. I am proud of every race I do because 2 years ago, I never thought any of it was doable. But this one, I especially feel pride in. I trained with the heart of a champion. I am not the fastest. But I don't need to be. I trained so on race day, I do it with ease. With a smile on my face the whole 13.1 miles. by @riga__mortis
