🤍 Pregnancy Loss Awareness 🤍

This is something very personal to me, and something I haven’t always found easy to talk about.

I’ve experienced two miscarriages, and looking back now, I don’t think I ever really knew how to navigate what I was going through.

Nobody really prepares you for the heartbreak of losing a pregnancy. The excitement, the plans, the little future you’ve already started imagining… and then suddenly it’s all taken away.

It was such a difficult time, not just for me emotionally and physically, but for my relationship with my hubby too. Grief affects everyone differently, and sometimes when you’re both hurting, you don’t know how to help each other. There were times I felt lost, overwhelmed and unsure how I was supposed to feel, never mind how to put those feelings into words.

I think one of the hardest things about miscarriage is that life around you carries on as normal, while inside you’re trying to come to terms with something that has completely broken your heart.

Looking back, I wish I’d known that it was okay to talk about it, okay to cry, okay to be angry and okay to not be okay. I wish I’d understood that there is no right or wrong way to grieve, and that healing doesn’t happen overnight.

It’s so important that we talk more openly about pregnancy loss, because so many women and couples go through it silently. It can put a strain on relationships, affect your confidence and leave you carrying feelings that others may never see.

If sharing my experience helps even one woman feel less alone, then it’s worth opening up about something that was so painful.

To anyone who has experienced pregnancy loss, I see you. Your grief is valid, your feelings matter, and you don’t have to pretend you’re okay. 🤍

Two pregnancies I never got to hold in my arms, but will always carry in my heart. 🕊️🤍
