The Plaza Hotel has been a fixture of New York City for more than a century. Now, the landmark is preparing for a lengthy closure as it undergoes a major restoration of its historic exterior. The iconic property will close in January 2027 for at least four years while crews repair and restore its landmark-protected façade, The Plaza announced in a press release on Oct. 14. Во время брифинга с участием заместителя акима Риддера Каната Оралбека был задан вопрос о судьбе стадиона «Сокол». Важный спортивный объект, расположенный в центре города на улице Гагарина несколько лет ждет реконструкции. Футбольное поле, асфальтовое покрытие на беговой дорожке, трибуны и здания центральной арены сильно обветшали. Площадка, на которой могли бы проводиться тренировки и соревнования, по факту пустует. Здесь не созданы современные условия для спортсменов. Заместитель акима Риддера отметил, что объект действительно важный и нужный для города. Он находится на балансе областного Управления физической культуры и спорта. Проектно-сметная документация на его обновление уже давно готова. Проблема только в финансировании, которое не выделяют. Стоимость работ по стадиону «Сокол» — 1 млрд 600 млн теңге. — На проведение капитального ремонта в 2026 году, к сожалению, средств не нашлось, — говорит Канат Оралбек. — Вся документация готова, ждем только финансирования.
