The director and writer Aaron Sorkin explains how he evolved the character of Mark Zuckerberg in the film “The Social Reckoning” for “Anatomy of a Scene,” a New York Times video series in which film directors reveal the secrets of making movies.

President Donald Trump’s diesel deal with Russia is unlikely to significantly reduce fuel prices for truckers and farmers, because the amount that Moscow will supposedly export is very small compared with U.S. and global demand.

Since diesel is used to transport a broad range of goods as well as to harvest crops, its rising cost tends to trickle throughout the economy, boosting prices. As the U.S. midterm elections approach in November, Trump faces pressure to address fuel prices due to its impact on inflation.

What Happens When Politics Pays Your Bills— Singer Di’ja

Thinking of building a home in the Dominican Republic? 🇩🇴 Here’s how we did it! (PART 1)

After sharing our family villa journey, so many of you have asked about the process of building in the DR. So I sat down with my mom to share our experience, the steps we followed, and what we’ve learned along the way.

A little backstory: Our villa is located in Las Galeras, Samaná, a quieter, less developed part of the Dominican Republic. When we first started looking for a luxury villa to rent in that area, we couldn’t find anything that fit what our family was looking for. That’s what inspired us to build our own!

📩 For serious inquiries about building in the Dominican Republic, my mom can help connect you with professionals we’ve worked with. Email her at buildinginlasgaleras@gmail.com.

Here’s a breakdown of our process:

1. FIND YOUR LAND 📍
Hire a trustworthy lawyer and land surveyor to verify the property and make sure everything checks out before moving forward.

2. SECURE YOUR LAND 📝
Sign a Promise to Purchase Agreement, agree on a closing date with the seller, and put down your deposit.

3. FINALIZE YOUR PURCHASE 🔑
Complete the legal due diligence, clear the necessary paperwork, and pay the remaining balance to finalize your purchase.

4. HIRE AN ARCHITECT 📐
Create your architectural plans and layout. This is where you start bringing your vision to life!

We’re still finishing our family villa in Las Galeras, and this experience has taught us SO much.

In Part 2, we’re getting into engineers, building permits, construction, and the process of designing and sourcing everything for our home.

Save this post if building a home in the Dominican Republic is on your vision board, and drop your questions below! 🇩🇴
