Allie + Patrick have the kind of love that makes everyone around them feel it too.

Easy, playful, and never taking themselves too seriously. The way they looked at each other all day said more than any speech could.

Safe to say this one was a lot of fun to film.

Cheers to these two 🥂 @allie_ryan @liights

i think one of the most important words every founder needs to delete from their dictionary is “cringe.”

because honestly, we were cringe at every stage of building figuring out 😂

when i started recording videos alone, with no professional setup, hiding cracks in the wall with books.

that was cringe.

when we started working out of my house, with 2-3 team members living together, sharing rooms and bathrooms.

that was cringe.

when we moved into a tiny office with barely any amenities or proper chairs.

cringe again.

when we finally got a bigger office, grew too fast, ran out of space and started sitting on the floor to work.

even more cringe 😂

but here’s what i’ve realised.

what looked cringe to the world was progress to us.

we weren’t trying to look like a successful company.

we were trying to become one.

and there’s a massive difference.

we didn’t have the money, the setup, the resources or the experience.

but we had this stupid, almost delusional belief that we could build something extraordinary.

and we were okay looking stupid while figuring out how.

today, linkedin has recognised us among the top startups of 2026.

20 million subscribers. one of the biggest podcasts in the world. an incredible team, beautiful offices, cameras, lights, everything we once wished we had.

and the funniest part?

i’m 100% sure we’re still doing things today that people find cringe.

and 5 years from now, we’ll probably look back and laugh at ourselves too.

GOOD.

because i never want us to become so successful that we become afraid of looking stupid again.

so if you’re building something right now from your bedroom, your parents’ house, a tiny office, with borrowed equipment, with 2 people who believe in your crazy idea

please don’t waste your energy trying to look cool.

being cringe is temporary. not trying because you’re afraid of being cringe can cost you your entire dream.

thank you @linkedin_in for this recognition. and thank you to every single person who’s been part of this very messy, very embarrassing, very beautiful journey.

we’re still figuring out.

and hopefully, we’ll always be a little cringe. ❤️

it started with just me alone in the room
