I took this picture around 6 pm last night after he trained clients since 4 or 5 am. A quiet moment between all the responsibilities that come with running a gym and carrying a full training schedule.
In all my years of coaching, I’ve never seen someone give so much to both.
Everyone sees the smile. The positivity. The way he makes people feel welcome. The encouragement he always seems to have ready when somebody needs it.
What’s easier to miss is the effort behind that. He gets tired, too. He has his own responsibilities and days when his energy runs low. Even the person everyone counts on needs a moment to catch his breath.
As another coach, watching him makes me want to be better. More present with my clients. More thoughtful with my words. More aware that the way I treat someone can change their entire experience in the gym.
A place like Sanctuary becomes a community through those everyday interactions remembering someone’s name, listening when they’re struggling, celebrating a little progress they almost overlooked.
Brother, I see the work you put into this place and the heart you give the people in it. I respect it more than you know.
I hope you feel that same support coming back to you. You deserve to be lifted up, too.
