The Texas DPS is asking the public for new information about the 1995 murder of Celia Loya, whose body was found in her east El Paso home. The reward for information leading to an arrest has increased to $6,000. Loya, 30, called her colleagues on Feb. 7, 1995, to say she would be late to work, but she never arrived. Her husband went to their home on Lake Champlain Street after he could not reach her and found her body on the bathroom floor. Investigators said Loya had been severely beaten and died from blood loss caused by blunt-force injuries to her head and body. Link in our bio.

HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis ⚠️ SENSITIVE: Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a woman on multiple felony charges, accusing her of killing 4 kittens, burying 2 alive, because she believed they were “demonic.” Last Thursday (October 8), police arrested 37-year-old Alba Chavez and charged her with four felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty involving torture, inflicting pain, serious injury or death to an animal. ___________________________________________________ Additional charges could follow if a missing fifth kitten is found dead. While speaking at press conference on Friday (October 9), MCSO Sheriff John Budensiek described Chavez as an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, noting, “She’s not going anywhere, any time soon.” MCSO said Uniform Patrol Deputies and Investigators with MCSO Animal Services are investigating after discovering two kittens buried alive and two dead outside a home in the Hobe Sound Mobile Home Park. MCSO said deputies were actively digging up parts of the property after the homeowner, Chavez, admitted to burying at least four of her cast alive in her yard. She allegedly told police she believed they were demons. ___________________________________________________ Police were able to save two of the kittens. However, two others were found deceased and a fifth kitten remains missing. The two found alive were rushed to a veterinary emergency clinic, treated for dehydration and are being monitored. Authorities said there were other adult cats found at the home who were examined by animal services and determined to be healthy. Furthermore, Sheriff Budensiek said three children living in the home called 911 after realizing their kittens had disappeared. The children believed Chavez killed two kittens earlier in the week and they feared for the others. Chavez allegedly admitted to killing two kittens on Monday (October 5), throwing them into the trash, removing them, and then trying them in her backyard. So, the children attempted to protect the remaining kittens by... ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 Martin County Sheriff’s Office / WPBF
