Jackie and I did a little trip up to Rouen in Normandy. It’s famous for Monet’s paintings of the Cathedral and also as the location in 1431 of the trial and execution of Joan of Arc. A terrible story of deceit and injustice. But the city is lovely with a lot of the medieval buildings and streets preserved. Ot was a nice way to spend a couple of days before Jackie’s birthday ❤️❤️❤️

117 days apart and the biggest overdue hug 🥹 It’s so lovely to have a little piece of home here with us. Someone who knows us, knows our life back in the UK and has been part of so many of our everyday moments. But even more special is getting to show her our new life here in Canada. The places we’ve discovered, the things we’ve been doing, our new home and all the little things that are slowly becoming normal to us. Moving away has made me realise just how much I love the friendships I have. We’d catch up every day, we’d have a cuppa together nearly every day and god it’s been hard to suddenly not have that. It’s a long way from home, but having a familiar face here, even just for a little while, makes it feel that little bit closer ❤️
