Nah it was so dumb the city put the bike lane on the road in the first place, much safer on the sidewalk. More traffic now too, f#ck this city.

Its hard to watch for people that use the bike lane, sidewalk, road, and driveways at will. No helmet usually too.

It's a constant problem at those Crossings,l have load horn on my ebike l'm always having to use to stop cars turning without looking for bike lanes, no enforcement or training drives

If they get hit, only one at fault is the bike riders. They never look, just keep on going.

Sorry to here that they got hit, but scooters have no business being in the bike lane. It’s for bikes, that’s why they call it a bike lane.

These bike lanes are beneficial but HAZARDOUS. EVERYONE, especially the bicyclists should use caution as they enter an intersection. Right or wrong it's not worth jeopardizing your life. Don't assume the driver sees you. ANTICIPATE!!

As another commenter said, it is unintuitive to expect 2-way bike traffic adjacent to the sidewalk, before the traffic lane. Despite the markings, too many drivers will not recognize the need to check both ways for fast moving bike riders who are not readily visible in some circumstances. A long learning curve for drivers will result in collisions and bikes are no match for cars and trucks.

Motorized scooters and electric motorcycles are prohibited from riding in the bike lane. It actually was passed in July 2026 and is now a law but not enforced by HPD Now, if the electric bike has pedals that actually function to help propel the electric bicycle, they are allowed to be in the bike lane along, obviously, with a traditional bicycle.
