Last night, surrounded by friends, family, colleagues, and community leaders, GT Senior Chairman Cesar Alvarez took the stage in a sold-out ballroom to receive the 2026 Sand in My Shoes® Award, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s most prestigious community leadership honor.

The celebration was about so much more than recognizing Cesar’s accomplished career. It was a celebration of decades spent opening doors, building institutions, bringing people together, mentoring the next generation, and always finding ways to give back to Miami.

Seeing so many people come together to honor Cesar was a beautiful reflection of the impact he has had on this community. Congratulations, Cesar, on this deeply deserved recognition and an extraordinary legacy.
