To know Annie is to love her. She is joy. She is silly. She loves dance and horseback riding, and she will let you know as soon as you meet her. She loves her friends, and she loves quiet time at home. She’s creative and crafty, and a roll of Scotch tape doesn’t stand a chance in her presence. She loves to snuggle. She has slept in my bed every night we are together, for nearly three years now. I put a pillow in between us every night, and every night at around 2 AM, she jumps the pillow in her sleep and burrows in right next to me.

She is strong and sensitive. Caring and kind. The sound of her giggle is my favorite sound in the world.

There is nothing in the world that matters more to me than being her mom. On the darkest days, she is my ultimate guiding light. On the best days, she’s the reason why.

Happy 8, Annie girl. You are the sun, and you deserve the whole world. ILY ILY ILY.
