Chemo diary ✈️ | Week 1 Well, week one of chemotherapy is in the logbook, and it’s fair to say it’s been a choppy start. Sleepless nights, feeling sickly, completely drained and dealing with some severe jaw pain, which appears to be a side effect of the vincristine - one of the chemo drugs. Not exactly the start I’d hoped for, and something I’m having to manage alongside everything else. I think the biggest challenge is adjusting to this next chapter, particularly after the news that radiotherapy has had minimal impact on the tumour and the latest MRI has highlighted new areas of concern. It’s a lot to process, and there are inevitably moments when it all feels a bit overwhelming, and even an element of β€œwhat’s the point?” For now, the focus is on managing the side effects, getting some much-needed sleep, eating when I can and finding a bit of energy. Fingers crossed the first patch of turbulence on this 9 month trip is finished 🀞 There’s a long way to go, and I know this journey isn’t going to be straightforward. I’ll keep sharing the reality of it β€” the good days, the bad days and everything in between. Week one: A bumpy start, but we keep trucking on ✈️❀️ Week two: A quiet week hopefully - but a visit to LBA control tower planned. Quite excited for a day out :)
