Writing is weird right now. I’m writing something at the moment that, in a year from now, I’ll be very glad is done *if* several other things work out the way I hope but are not at all guaranteed. If I don’t write it now and the opportunity arises when I hope it does, the opportunity will be lost. But writing this particular thing now means I’m not writing other things that have a higher likelihood of working out. Some days, all of that uncertainty is easy to carry. Other days, it’s too much.

Aiming for the stars while aware of the very real possibility of disappointment. Believing in projects that not everyone believes in. Moving forward anyway. That is often part of being a writer; it’s just a very intense part of it right now.

Fist bump, high five, nod of acknowledgement to everyone else juggling a lot of uncertainty. We should start a club. There should be cake.
