My thoughts on abusive artists in our scene during the safety topic of @bachatagenevafestival Round Table 🎙️

I call on all organizers:
Do not work with people known for their problematic behaviors, even if they have a big name. You are putting your dancers at risk. There are plenty of other options. Let’s make the scene safer for all of us 🙏🏻

This was a special day for me in the Tuscany countryside, and one of the best memories of our trip. ❤️ Cooking with Chef Alejandra was a treat, and I really learned so much. Pasta all’Aglione, Ravioli with Spinach and Ricotta, and Tiramisu, which clearly I’ve made incorrectly my whole life. 😍 I also learned that three glasses of Brunello (plus the Prosecco in the kitchen) in the middle of the day is probably not a habit I’ll take back to the ranch with me, but I sure didn’t mind it at the time. For the rest of my life, I’ll smile when I think about this memory. ❤️

The power of manifestation!! Guys, can you even!? I’m GAGGGEDDDD! The second I saw a close up of this Dries Van Noten skirt on the runway, I added it to my unicorn list. Did I actually think I’d ever find it 1) secondhand, 2) in my size, AND 3) at a price I could afford? NEEEEEVA!!So imagine me doing my daily @therealreal check when this pops up?! I don’t even wanna tell you how fast I started throwing shit on the floor so I could lock in!Because someone put it in their cart one second before me, and I was sitting there sweating, praying they’d pass so I could claim her….and they did!! Praise him!!😂🙏
Sure, it’s just a skirt. But I love clothes that double as works of art, and this masterpiece really deserves to be framed…by my big booty Judy😉

Your baby skipped crawling and went straight to cruising the couch. Before that 2am Google spiral, read this 👇

This week on @thepedsdoctalkpodcast I sat down with Jena Schultz, DPT (@drivingdevelopment), a pediatric physical therapist and board certified pediatric specialist, to talk about motor milestones and why social media makes them feel so much scarier than they need to be.

Jena said something I want every parent to hold onto. Development happens on a continuum and in a sequence, and there's no stopwatch running. Rolling can show up anywhere from about 3 to 8 months and still be typical. Milestones come in age ranges, and that range is room for your baby to be your baby.

Crawling is a great example. When the CDC and AAP updated their milestone checklists in 2022, crawling came off the list and a lot of people panicked. Jena explained it so clearly. Kids with an underlying condition may have a harder time crawling, and they usually have a harder time with other milestones too. A baby who skips crawling but is babbling, chasing big brother, and pulling to stand is showing you a lot about how they're doing overall.

As a pediatrician, I've followed plenty of my "crawling defiant" kids for years. Most turn into coordinated walkers who just wanted to keep up with their siblings. At visits, I look at the whole child: gross motor, find motor, cognitive development, language, social skills, problem solving, and how their body moves in other ways. One skipped skill rarely tells the full story. And if something feels off to you, a check in with your child’s pediatrician is always worthwhile.

Comment POD to get the full episode of "Milestones and Myths: The Truth About Tummy Time, Crawling, and More with a Pediatric Physical Therapist." We also get into bottom scooting on slippery floors, W sitting, toe walking, and the two things Jena says should never wait: early head flattening and head turn preference.
Did your baby crawl, scoot, roll, or skip it and take off walking? Tell me below 👇
