Ce film documentaire invite à partager ce voyage intérieur et géographique. Il propose de retracer l’odyssée des Indiens gujaratis, de l’Inde à Madagascar, jusqu’à La Réunion, en questionnant ce que signifie “être réunionnais” à travers cette histoire de migrations et de métissages. C’est une épopée intime, mais aussi collective, celle d’Indiens musulmans devenus Français, d’hommes et de femmes ayant bâti une identité nouvelle à la croisée des mondes.

This documentary film invites viewers to share in this journey – both inner and geographical. It tells the migration of Gujarati people, from India to Madagascar and also to Reunion Island, whilst exploring what it means to ‘be Reunionese’ through this history of migration and cultural fusion. It is a beautiful yet collective of the story of Muslim Indians who have become French, of men and women who have forged a new identity at the crossroads of worlds.
