Hi friends & family,
This isn’t the post I ever imagined I would be making.
My cancer is back.
I cannot explain the absolute disbelief and what it feels like climbing this mountain and hearing those words again. I am completely numb and heartbroken.
Life has taken an unexpected turn for me over the last few weeks, and it has brought more fear, tears, and unknowns that I could fit in the last month. In the last 48-72 hours, my world has flipped upside down. Trusting God’s plan and also being reminded just how many people are standing beside me.
I’ve been in the investigation process for weeks now. Doctors found an invasive tumor on my spine as well as lesions on my left kidney and liver. The preliminary results of blood tests and scans showed signs concerning and strongly suggests a secondary malignant neoplasm of an unspecified site — a type of cancer that has spread from its original (primary) location to another part of my body, but the primary site have not yet been determined and cannot find the exact organ or tissue where the cancer first started.
The radiologist’s leading possibility is Myeloma, with Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN) are also being considered. I don’t have a clear diagnosis yet and I am still waiting on additional biomarker-testing and follow-ups throughout the next few weeks that will help my team determine how exactly I will fight this.
Next week, I will meet with my oncologist again at City of Hope and figure out what comes next and a plan moving forward.
There is no pretending that I’m okay to have faith. All that to say, if this has taught me anything, it’s been that God is always faithful and His mercy and goodness are unfailing.
This is only one chapter of my story. I have another fight in my hands, but I will not fight a single second of this alone. I’m ready, and I’d do it all over again. Thank you all for carrying this with me. I love you all.🎗️🎀♥️
