Day -5 Maa Skandamata Her name literally means Mother of Skanda, also known as Lord Kartikeya- born of Lord Shiva & Shakthi’s divine energy. Maa Skandamata, embodies Vatsalya loosely translated, it means the tender, unconditional love of a mother. Empowered by his mother Maa Skandamata’s unconditional love & protection, he becomes the celestial commander-in-chief of Gods & slays the invincible demon Tarakasura. Goddess Durga is an integration of two seemingly opposite forces - the tender warmth of a mother’s love & the fierce, defensive shield of a courageous protector. Yet, they are ultimately two sides of the same coin. Both forces demand a complete selflessness & surrender of the ego. As a mother, vatsalya, is the most selfless form of love, which cares & protects, wanting only the wellbeing of her child, & asking for nothing in return. The protector similarly risks everything, her life too, while standing in the line of fire to keep the protected safe. The courageous protector is not driven by hatred for the enemy, but by deep love for whom is being protected. This mango yellow - black Kanjeevaram saree is arund -3 decades old, which I realised is giving away in a couple of places. Its seen many wears, seen places and people significant in my life, all along collecting & holding memories in its folds. First @hyroxworld singles in the books!! The Boston Hyrox event did not disappoint and big shoutout to @factormeals for the opportunity. Some thoughts and highlights: 1) The dreaded wall balls went better than expected but still tons of room for improvement. 2) I was strong in the burpee broadjumps in doubles…but it blasted me in singles. Didn’t see that coming. 3) The sled pushes felt super heavy for some reason. Had to slow down on this so that I didn’t blow my calves up. 4) Farmers carries were also a big struggle, gotta work on my grip strength. 5) Felt super strong on lunges 6) Can’t believe this dude beat me at the finish line 🤪 7) Overall was pleased with my nutrition and hydration strategy. No stomach problems out there 🤘 8) Check out the last photo above 👆to see a summary of my strengths and weaknesses from the day.
