Three of the biggest data centres in Russia were taken offline this weekend - dramatically changing the social media landscape. According to tech experts monitoring the situation, the strikes have successfully taken online services down, leaving large swathes of Russian citizens unable to use banking apps, complete transactions, or even book a taxi online. However, there’s another interesting by-product from this coordinated action. As per the bot analysts at Tom’s Hardware, bot traffic from the Yandex network has dropped to just 0.4% of the maximum number of HTTP requests recorded in the past two weeks. That means activity from automated, Russian-hosted accounts has been virtually eliminated on social media. There has already been a strong and significant impact on bot traffic in countries such as France and Germany, and it will be interesting to see what impact there is in the US ahead of the November mid-terms. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has hailed the tactical strikes, stating that they have resulted in ‘less hate and division’ being stoked online. It’s unclear as to when Yandex will get up and running to full capacity again – and the timing is certainly problematic for Moscow and its sympathisers.
I’ve always been jealous of people who knew they wanted to be a dentist. 🦷 not because of a hidden love for teeth, but because it’s SUCH a clear career path. No questions asked. Then there is me. I am a zig-zag person. 🤸🏻‍♀️I keep changing job titles (half of them not even listed here) and I had to learn that that’s okay. Everything is connected cause my read thread stays the same: I make people “look twice”.

That’s what I did in repair (build brand partnerships and put it in a new spotlight so its value was impossible to ignore🏆). That’s also what I do when I make videos about iconic Dutch things (that are “normal” to eyes who have grown up here💘). But if I go to a dinner party tomorrow and the person next to me says “I’m a dentist”, and then turns to me… I will look at them with big eyes not sure of what to say next. I “make you look twice” doesn’t really work as a job title lol. I used to say “founder” but I graduated from my repair chapter (even tho I will alwaysss continue to be an incredibly loud voice for repair and circularity📣), and now I landed in this in-between phase where I don’t quite know what’s next or how to introduce myself… yet! (Yet is a very powerful word here btw) It’s a funky phase, but I can finally say… it’s also pretty exciting. Maybe that’s why I chose this song by Ashe. cause if I learned anything in the last 10 years it’s that “stopping the wedding” can be anything: a city, a relationship or a job. 💒 You are allowed to change direction, if the path you’re on doesn’t feel right anymore. (Even if it doesn’t make sense at first) cause some of the happiest people I’ve met have the most confusing resumes!!! So welcome to this corner of the internet: where we love a good plot twist. Where we move abroad, learn Dutch (again and again), where we “huppel” around and sit on benches. ❤️ #abroad #netherlands #gapyear (s)

Boy Caught After Breaking Into a House in and eating, Living There for 4 Days While Owner Was Away In Auchi A man identified as Sunday has been caught after allegedly breaking into someone’s house in Auchi, Edo State, and living there for about four days while the owner was away. In a video showing his confrontation with the landlord, the man admitted to breaking the back window to gain access to the property. When the landlord questioned how long he had been staying in the house, the man replied, “I’ve stayed for like four days.” The landlord expressed shock that the man had allegedly been living in the property, cooking and using the facilities without permission. “Four days? You dey cook, dey baff, dey shit. Okay, why you come break this back window?” the landlord asked before calling attention to the damage done to the property. When asked who broke the window, the man admitted, “I’m the one that did it.” However, when the landlord pointed out the damaged security bars, the man explained that he had broken the window to create an escape route in case someone arrived. “It is so that in case anybody come, I will follow through that side,” he said. Reacting to the explanation, the landlord questioned his reasoning, asking whether he intended to escape through the broken window if anyone showed up. The landlord further accused him of staying in the tenant’s house and cooking beans and rice since the previous Friday, warning that he would go to jail over the incident. During the confrontation, the landlord asked the man where he was from, and he responded, “Bauchi State.”
