“Lisa Andersen surfs better than you.” The Surfer Magazine cover was a defining moment in the ‘90s, challenging gender stereotypes and reshaping perceptions of women in surfing.
As a Florida native, I’ve long been inspired by the 4x World Champion, not only for her accolades, her pioneering of the first women’s boardshorts with Roxy, or our shared roots, but for her heart.
A heart strong enough to take risks, bet on herself, and pave the way for generations of women to follow, all while humbly making history.
