COLLABFEST

COLLABFEST FEATURE:

MONA 💐🌈☄️

While I don’t make my own music (yet!) I love writing lyrics, poems, and musical improv. I’ve primarily been a performer since I was 12 years old. I like to say “multifaceted” because it’s true! I’ve dipped my toe into just about everything. Most recently I directed “Un Inizio Nuovo” (A New Beginning) at the last “History in Motion” presented by the Rotary Club in Lincoln. I’ve also been exploring Drag! As a GenderFluid performer, this is where I feel most exhilarated! And I have a sickening set lined up!

I LOVE the idea of COLLABFEST as in the few years, despite having moved to Toronto in 2019, I’ve reconnected to my roots in Niagara. I have met many of the artists in COLLABFEST over the last few years. I was first introduced to @sunshinesexpress who quickly welcomed me into the scene. I was first brought on tour as a “Hype Man” and the rest was history. I’ve now made so many connections and real friendships through the music scene in Niagara. COLLABFEST is important to me because in a western isolationist world we are choosing to create community. I’ve always been of the strong belief that art is for the people. We can’t have community without art. We can’t have art without community. Real art, real music, together! No AI (because FUCK that) I can’t wait to bring all of this talent together and to make new meaningful connections.
