On Thursday, my dad passed away peacefully at home after a years long battle with cancer. I’m grateful he isn’t suffering anymore and thankful for all the bonus time I had with him.
The days are a blur right now as we make preparations to honour his life, but a few things stand out in my mind as I contemplate his 83 years…his love of food,his dedication to the arts, his wonder at the natural world, his love for family, and in the end, his long suffering. ❤️🩹 I can only hope to hold such grace when it is my time to go.
Obviously we are devastated. My siblings, mother and I will reunite early next week and the healing can begin. 💔
