I do not exaggerate when I say toads give me an absolute flutter of pure joy every time I see one. It all started a couple years ago when I rescued and rehabilitated a little toad that had been maimed by some EVIL raccoons (I’ve got my eye on you, you raccoon sympathizers out there! 👁️🦝👁️). I fell head over heels in love with her. She knew my voice, and would hop over to sit next to me and let me feed her. I didn’t know toads were capable of that kind of recognition and trust. Now, every time a toad hops into my path, I get a little jolt of happiness. Toad day is my favorite day 😍. I made these toad sculptures out of thick vintage wool chenilles with little glass eyes. I can make a little tutorial video if anyone wants to learn how to make toads of their own, lmk! I want to make about 300 more then create an entire dress out of them! A dress made of toad armor. 💕🐸💕 Maybe by next year I’ll have it finished! 🤣😅 #mdwc26d29 #mabsdrawlloweenclub2026 #toad #fiberartsculpture #ilovetoads

A river in Bangladesh has grown so heavily clogged with plastic waste and solid refuse that people can walk across its surface. Layers of discarded bottles, packaging, and industrial debris have built up into a thick, almost solid mat that covers stretches of water once open for boats and fishing. Bangladesh generates roughly 3,000 tonnes of plastic waste every day, with large volumes flowing into rivers around Dhaka such as the Buriganga. Untreated industrial effluent and household refuse continue to smother these waterways, turning them into some of the most polluted stretches in the region.
i think i’ve spent a ridiculous amount of my life feeling like i’m not good enough. even today. you walk into a room with people you’ve admired for years and suddenly your brain starts doing stupid things. am i smart enough to be here? do i even belong in this room? what if i open my mouth and say something stupid? what if everyone realises i don’t know as much as they think i do? sometimes it’s even sillier. am i dressed well enough? do i look like someone who belongs here? and the funny thing is, i used to think one day all of this would disappear. that after enough achievements, enough stages, enough wins, i’d finally feel secure. but it doesn’t work like that. you just enter bigger rooms and find new reasons to doubt yourself 😂 and i’m slowly realising something. maybe the goal was never to become someone who doesn’t feel insecure. maybe the goal is to become someone who can tolerate insecurity without letting it make decisions for them. because imagine how many opportunities we’ve missed waiting to feel ready. how many conversations we never started. how many questions we never asked because we didn’t want to look stupid. how many chances we didn’t take because we thought we weren’t good enough yet. and that’s the part that scares me now. not being rejected. but letting my own insecurity quietly decide how big my life gets. so now i try to do it anyway. walk into the room nervous. ask the question even if it’s stupid. speak even if my voice shakes. take the chance even when a part of me feels completely out of place. because maybe confidence isn’t walking into a room believing you’re the smartest person there. maybe it’s walking in knowing you might be the least impressive person there, and still refusing to make yourself smaller. i don’t know if i’ll ever stop feeling insecure. but i really don’t want to spend my life waiting for that day. there’s too much i want to do before then.
