Gorillaz concert photos with my digital camera!!!!!! This concert was so amazing, it’s the best I’ve ever been to, which I am a little biased since they’ve been my favorite band/art inspiration for years and years. They are what inspired me to animate and even do character design in the first place. This band had the most influence on my artstyle, anatomy, and overall art practice for so many years and influenced my music taste so much. They’ve been my most intense and longest interest of my life, and they’re so so so so amazing and I’m so grateful I finally got to see them live, especially being in the front.
I also dressed as Noodle and made a helmet out of paper mache because I just love this band so much. I will be posting a video sooner or later of how I made the costume. I started crying during the first 10 seconds of the first song because I just couldn’t believe it was finally happening. For like 5 years I’d play their concerts on YouTube and pretend I was seeing them live because I never thought I actually would, this was so amazing and an experience of a lifetime!!! Damon albarn even hugged me and sang 19-2000 with me, which was the first music video I had ever seen from Gorillaz and it amazed me. I also got a setlist and 2 picks which is so amazing and im scared to use them to play bass because I don’t want to lose them lol. Thank you Damon and Jamie and Deltron3030 and Little Simz!!! Everyone is genuinely so amazing this was the best experience ever!!!!!!
I have never made as much fanart for anything as I have for Gorillaz, genuinely any topic in the world that I know the most about is this band and I cried through like 60% of it until I forced myself to lock in. Everything I own and even my bedroom walls are covered in Gorillaz-related things. THIS WAS SOOOOO AMAZING!!! Even if I listen to other bands more often as I like to shake things up, this band will forever have its place in my heart and will always be my first response to my favorite band.
