When it comes to absolute, uncompromising deathcore royalty, Sydney, Australia’s Thy Art Is Murder built the modern blueprint.

Serving as one of the most explosive, fan-favorite tracks off their landmark 2017 album Dear Desolation (Nuclear Blast), “Puppet Master” is a relentless, anti-establishment war cry packed with razor-sharp riffs, relentless blast beats, and pure, unadulterated hate.

🗣️ CJ McMahon’s Authoritative Bark: CJ McMahon’s vocal delivery on this track is iconic. His signature mid-range bark and throat-shredding growls hit with the force of a battering ram, delivering every single line with terrifying clarity.

🎸 Melodic Deathcore Violence: Guitarists Andy Marsh and Sean Delander fuse the blistering speed and dark, Swedish-style melodic death metal riffs with thick, modern down-tuned weight. The guitar work moves at breakneck speed, building insane momentum throughout the entire track.

🥁 Lee Stanton’s Military Precision: Driven by Lee Stanton’s surgical drum performance, the song relies on punishing blast beats and relentless double-bass runs to maintain an suffocating, high-octane tempo that never gives you a second to catch your breath.

🔨 The Room-Clearing Beatdown: Thy Art Is Murder has always been famous for writing breakdowns designed for absolute mosh pit carnage. The drop on “Puppet Master” pulls back the speed just enough to let the low-end guitars drag, hitting with pure & primitive weight.
