Golden State Performance Physical Therapy

It’s been a few years since my last CrossFit competition, and I might not have shown it on my face, but I was nervous (the 140 bpm heart rate right before my heat gave it away). The last few years have been a whirlwind of growing Golden State Performance PT, exciting life events like getting married, and some not so exciting ones like injury setbacks. So I’m really glad @jewelyssaamarie asked me to do this with her (thanks, partner!).

And once the clock started, the nerves turned into something else. The music, the crowd, a whole gym cheering for every athlete through the very last rep... that’s the part of competing I didn’t realize I missed so much. My Rx days are probably behind me as I choose a more balanced lifestyle, but my love for this community only grows.

If you’re coming back from an injury, a busy season of life, or just a long break, your comeback doesn’t have to look like your old normal to count. Scale what you need to, show up anyway, and let your people cheer you on. That’s what I want for every athlete I work with.
