The highs and lows of autism family life... One minute they're completely fixated on something, and we'll spend ages trying to find exactly what he wants. Then, when we finally get it, he doesn't want it anymore. Or his attention shifts to something else, and if it's something we can't give him, the frustration can become overwhelming. Sometimes that frustration leads to him hurting himself, and then a few hours later, he's having the time of his life. That's the reality of raising a non-verbal autistic child with high support needs. Things can change so quickly, and you never quite know what the next few hours will bring. 💙 #autism #nonverbalautism #autismparenting #AutismFamily #autismawareness
A little behind-the-scenes, a little catching up with @mrunalthakur, and a whole lot to explore. Here’s a glimpse of @godrejproperties_pune Shubh Aarambh in Pune, where we got to experience The Elevated Living Edit and see how the idea of home is evolving beyond just four walls. Home means different things to everyone, but the one thing everyone can agree on is that our home is our safe space, our space for peace & relaxation, and that’s exactly what I saw here. Some people have a problem with 1. Me yelling with a megaphone 2. Encouraging people at the end of the marathon to keep running And I understand not everyone is going to want that. I understand some people might be running a run walk interval, but I know I needed this m when I ran on this course. And I know there’s people who have a goal to run entire thing, finish under a time, and who start to walk because of the pain. The NYC marathon is notorious for their loud and energetic crowds throughout the entire 5 boroughs. It lifted me when I was struggling at the end of this marathon, and I know there’s other people out there who look forward to this as well. I’ll be around mile 23 this year, drop your bib number if you’re that person who WANTS this energy from me. 🫶🏻📣
your abs aren’t growing? save this ↓ One of the biggest things that changed my physique was learning to train my core with intention instead of just doing endless ab workouts I saved online ABS vs. CORE — what’s the difference? 1. ABS = definition + muscle development Your rectus abdominis is the 6 pack muscle. To develop it, train it like any other muscle with weights!! Use controlled reps, progressive overload, and consistency!! • Cable crunches • Reverse crunches • Hanging knee raises 2. CORE = stability + control Your core includes your abs, obliques, transverse abdominis, diaphragm, and deeper stabilizing muscles. It helps you brace, control your pelvis and rib cage, and transfer force during lifts. • Dead bugs • Planks • Pallof presses • 90/90 breathing + bracing drills 3. HOW TO ACTUALLY ACTIVATE YOUR CORE ✨ Exhale gently before bracing to help bring your ribs over your pelvis. ✨ Brace all the way around your midsection this is called 360 breathing ! Feel your whole ribcage expand 360° tension, not just sucking in your stomach. ✨ Keep your ribs stacked over your pelvis instead of letting your lower back arch and ribs flare. 4. STOP CONFUSING A BURN WITH EFFECTIVE TRAINING Feeling your abs burn doesn’t automatically mean you’re training them well. Focus on control, full range of motion, tension, and gradually making exercises more challenging. 5. REMEMBER Visible abs depend on muscle development, body fat distribution, genetics, and other individual factors. You can’t spot-reduce belly fat with ab workouts!!! Save this for your next ab day ^_^
