Kenyan film director Kennedy Njau, popularly known as Ken Heman, is calling for an independent investigation into the deaths of his two daughters, Tehilla Cara Wambui, 5, and Angel Nyla Njeri, 3, who died in a house fire in Gachie, Kiambu County, on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The fire broke out at around 5 PM in a fourth floor apartment along Kiuna Road. Ken claims the children’s mother, Nyambura Mburu, had left them locked inside the house shortly before 4 PM, expecting a househelp to arrive later. He also questioned why he was only informed of their deaths on Sunday morning. Their three year old sister survived after reaching the balcony and calling for help. Teacher Joash Ondieki climbed the building using drainage pipes, with help from other rescuers, and the child was lowered to safety using a curtain. A postmortem examination confirmed that the two girls died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Ken, who had separated from the children’s mother but continued sharing parenting responsibilities, says he wants to know what caused the fire and why the children were left inside a locked apartment. He has called for justice, saying the tragedy could have been prevented.

i realized i’ve been on here for a while and never properly introduced myself. 😂🤍 i’m lilly! a stay-at-home mom of two, a christian, a coffee girl, a book lover, and apparently someone who watches debates for fun. 😭 i’m here sharing motherhood, my faith, little pieces of our everyday life, and my journey of building an income online to help my family. more than anything, i’d love to build a community of women who encourage each other, share similar interests, and make this little corner of instagram feel like a place we belong. 🥹 so tell me something random about yourself in the comments! i want to get to know you, too. 🤍 #christianmom #christianmotherhood #stayathomemom #momsofinstagram #momcommunity
