I’m sharing this because I feel like there’s a LOT of us; parents who reluctantly had to get divorced but genuinely wish it were different.

I feel beyond guilty that I’m divorced.

I worry endlessly about how it will affect my daughter.

Erika Komisar just released a book for parents who get divorced and she’s been doing a lot of press tours to promote her book.

I spent an hour reading all the comments from children whose parents divorced and every comment from those children was like a knife to my freaking heart.

It’s truly awful.

I CONSTANTLY second guess my decision even though my marriage ended due to chronic infidelity.

I often think I should have just “sucked it up” for Ellie’s sake.
I genuinely do not get posts like “my divorce glow-up”. I just don’t.

I hate that I had to get divorced.

I constantly wish I had chosen differently.

When my divorce is finalized (it’s still not, 3 years later!), I am gathering my friends & family in a church and we’re going to pray for me, for my ex-husband and my future husband.
I certainly don’t want a divorce party.

And I feel like I don’t see a lot of content around about it so I wanted to take the lead and say, “Hi, hello, it’s me and I wish it were different. But it’s not.”
