James will always be one of my favorite books because it just tells you like it is. No fluff, no “good feels” just straight up honest truth to put you in your place and as you read through chapter 4 it’s talking about your desires and why we’re fighting them and what’s causing that discomfort and I think a lot of if not all us can relate to it.

It’s that fight between being friends of the world and friends of God and how desires bring conflict between the two but in it all we’re reassured that if we can start with coming close to God He will also come close to us which in return should help shape our intentions of our desires.
