The technological landscape is changing.

Power over digital infrastructures is increasingly concentrated in the hands of a small number of corporations and states. At the same time, new technological powers, open-source communities, public infrastructures and alternative models are emerging around the world.

So what does this mean for democracy?

And, perhaps more importantly:

What should we do about it?

At #DecidimFest26, we’ll spend three days exploring these questions through keynotes, debates, workshops, stories and conversations. Check the program!

📅 28–30 October 2026
📍 @canodrombcn & @ateneuharmonia @fabraicoatsbcn — Barcelona

🎟️ Registration is open.

What should we do about it? Build public tools, and bring enough citizens to use them. This is deliberative democracy for the digital era. We need to move past asking whether this can work. Platforms like vTaiwan and Decidim have already proven it does. Now we need to build them at scale. The formula for democracy is N × C = D: numbers times collaboration equals democracy.
