Today’s plan: conquer the summit and close my carb window with a view to die for. 🏔️💪 🌎 @5percentnutrition 🇺🇲 5percentnutrition.com 📝 use code Amazonka -15%
What do you think about the glucose drink?! They were out of the lime I always choose, so I tried orange and it was SWEEEEET 😅 will not miss that appointment at all . I have found that eating a high protein savory breakfast and then pairing high protein and fiber-rich carbs the rest of the day helps minimize the crash a bit, but I also want to advocate for the unsung hero in blood sugar control and that’s MUSCLE MASS and strength training . Muscle gives your glucose places to GO— so the more of it we have, the less insulin is needed to clear glucose from the blood. Yay for improved insulin resistance by building muscle! Sometimes I think we view strength training as an exercise preference, but it’s more than that— it’s a tool for so many bodily systems to operate more efficiently and pregnancy is a cool chance to see it in action . To be clear, it’s just a tool and nothing guarantees we won’t developed geatational diabetes and it’s certainly not your fault if you do, but it’s also great to be aware and proactive if we can 🫶 and just another great reason not to fear lifting in pregnancy 🤰💪🏼 . If you need any help with prenatal-informed strength training or how to eat to support building muscle, comment “PLAN” below or ask anything you’re curious about and I’m happy to help in any way 💛 . Also some of yall telling me about the yummy Fresh Test or your OB letting your bring the equivalent in jelly beans had me quite jealous 🙃 who are these unicorns?! . . #bloodsugarbalance #pregnancy #fulldayofeatingpregnancy #highproteinmeals #highfiber
