Is this a little controversial? Idk but I feel like it’s so important for people to know what’s possible when we work with the brains mechanisms for profound change! We really do have highly effective ways to facilitate these neurobiological processes & talking about the same thing over and over again without substantial change isn’t the way!

If you’re interested in learning more about the mechanisms of memory reconsolidation and how to apply them, I recommend these resources:

When I witness someone having a really big breakthrough in just a couple of sessions, I often find myself thinking: Do people know this is possible? Do people know that long-standing patterns that feel so sticky and unmovable can sometimes change profoundly when we access the emotional learnings underlying them and create the conditions for memory reconsolidation?

There’s also an important nuance here: even with a highly skilled therapist, reaching that kind of transformation can take a long time. With complex trauma, there can be many interconnected emotional learnings and protective barriers that need attention along the way. I’ve had plenty of experiences where I haven’t been able to facilitate a transformational experience in just a few sessions, and I don’t want to imply that this happens every time. Rapid breakthroughs are possible, but they aren’t a promise or a standard against which to measure everyone’s healing.

So it just doesn’t make the mainstream news that a little girl’s mama was burned to death in an Israeli airstrike as she watched? What if it was a white child somewhere else? Why doesn’t her suffering matter? Just used to seeing this every day so it’s not newsworthy? My heart. Mainstream news is complicit in genocide.

Lahan bekas kebakaran di Bukit Lantak, Kecamatan Timpeh, Kabupaten Dharmasraya, Sumatera Barat (Sumbar), yang luasnya 5,9 hektare kedapatan telah ditanami kelapa sawit. Seperti dilansir JawaPos dari Padang Ekspres (Jawa Pos Group), area di dalam Kawasan Hutan Produksi Terbatas (HPT) itu baru hangus dilalap api pada 15 September 2026. Polres Dharmasraya kini memasang garis polisi di lokasi, sementara Pemerintah Kabupaten Dharmasraya menancapkan plang larangan menggarap lahan. Pada Jumat (16/10/2026), Bupati Dharmasraya Annisa Suci Ramadhani bersama Kapolres Dharmasraya AKBP Kartyana Widyarso Wardoyo Putro meninjau area tersebut, didampingi Kepala UPT Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan Produksi (KPHP) Dharmasraya Bobby Habibullah. Kartyana memastikan penyidik tengah memeriksa sejumlah saksi di sekitar lokasi guna mengurai kronologi dan melacak siapa saja yang bertanggung jawab.

Menurut Kartyana, aktivitas penanaman sawit itu akan didalami berdasarkan status kawasan, izin, serta aturan kehutanan, sedangkan penentuan pihak yang bersalah atas kebakaran bergantung pada hasil penyelidikan dan alat bukti. Hingga kini, pelaku pembakaran maupun penanaman sawit tersebut belum diumumkan. Di sisi lain, Annisa menyebut pemkab telah membentuk Satgas Karhutla bersama forkopimda di tiap nagari dan meneken maklumat bersama pencegahan karhutla. Ia mengingatkan warga akan bahaya pembukaan lahan dengan cara dibakar, terlebih saat El Nino dan kemarau panjang melanda. “Jangan membuka lahan dengan membakar, apalagi di kawasan hutan,” pintanya. Annisa juga menyebut aplikasi SiPongi tidak lagi mencatat titik panas di Dharmasraya sejak 23 September 2026.
