For composer Segun Akinola, inspiration is everywhere, and after visiting The Music is Black: A British Story exhibition at the V&A East Museum, drum and bass became an influence of his new work commissioned by Radio 3.

Segun spoke about his piece, On the Shoulders of Aunties and Uncles recorded by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, on Radio 3's In Tune.

We're partnering with the V&A East Museum in The Music is Black: A British Story, a landmark exhibition documenting 125 years of Black music-making in Britain. Discover more by searching 'The Music is Black' on BBC Sounds and BBC.co.uk

I really, really loved Segun’s piece. Every time it was played I heard something new.
