LIFE IS LIKE A KITCHEN. LEARN TO LEAD YOURSELF THROUGH THE CHAOS.
One thing I am discovering on my journey as a chef is that life can be just as chaotic as a professional kitchen.
There are moments of pressure, criticism, unexpected challenges, and even insults. Sometimes, the demands become so overwhelming that people choose to quit because they can no longer cope.
But here is a lesson I am learning: pressure can become a teacher when you learn how to respond to it.
In the kitchen, perfection does not come from panic. It comes from understanding the process, staying composed under pressure, communicating effectively, and working in synergy with your team.
Life is no different.
You must learn to silence the noise that distracts you, manage your emotions, understand the process, and remain focused on the goal. Not every voice deserves your attention, and not every challenge deserves an emotional reaction.
However, staying composed does not mean tolerating abuse or accepting unhealthy environments. It means developing the wisdom to distinguish between constructive criticism and destructive noise, and the discipline to respond rather than react.
As a chef, I am learning that leadership is not just about giving instructions or producing excellent meals. It is also about how you carry yourself when things are not going according to plan.
And in life, the same principle applies.
You cannot always control the chaos around you, but you can develop the character to navigate through it.
That is how you grow. That is how you lead. And that is how you develop a Leading Mind.
