it's interesting stuff when you take old work down and see what a brickie has over hundred years ago that's why this job isn't always about just laying brick

Do you ever lay with traditional lime mortar? As in potty based not NHL? What sort of brick numbers would you expect to lay using traditional methods bearing in mind pick/dip just doesn't work as the mortar is much stiffer?
