whew this one was hard 😅
If you didn't see my stories over the wknd, this hike was tough for me!
High elevation gain within 3 miles, at 10k ft (meaning less oxygen and thinner air), and partially in the rain/snow. I'm still in pain from my dental procedure and I'm taking antibiotics. I had to use my inhaler a million times.
Long story short: the hike ended with me vomiting.
I loved this hike, regardless, though. I finally got to see ancient bristlecone pines!! 🌲😍 I also saw and felt snow, and witnessed a beautiful sunset complete with TWO rainbows 🌈🌈
It's called "Raintree Trail" because it takes you to a beautiful bristlecone pine called "The Raintree." (It's the thick boi in slide 6)
My stats:
•6.8 miles
•1772 ft gain (Alltrails OG said 1,886 ft)
𖤣 Spring Mountains NRA, Nevada
Tip: bring trekking poles, layers, electrolytes, & lots of water
