3:45 am alarms multiple times a week. Rushing through my days. Surviving on caffeine. Little to no sleep. My body finally crashed and said, “I’m tired of being treated like this.”
It took me years to realize snoozing through my alarm several times and continuing to neglect my sleep was a red flag.
But the number 3 things that helped me stop snoozing my alarms are a game changer for me, you and all my clients…
1. Winding down 1 hour before bed: Caleb, Augie and I lay in bed one hour before we’re actually ready to go to sleep. I’ve taken my night time supplements like magnesium and L-Theanine, put on my blue light blocking glasses and my pulsetto to calm the nervous system before bed. No screens.
2. I stop eating at 6:30 or 7 pm to give my digestion time to slow down before bed.
3. I journal and brain dump all my day’s thoughts so I can go to bed without a full mind and endless thoughts. It’s in my journal and I can move on.
BONUS: I’m asleep by 8:30 or 9 pm. Yes, grandma status, but I’ll take it. My 4:30 am alarm comes fast and I’m still the sleep queen.
What’s one thing you can steal from my habits to start tonight?
