What to expect in Paris tomorrow, Saturday, October 17.

You might have seen posts warning about the protests planned in Paris this weekend. Some of it is fearmongering, and some of it is a fair reminder to take a few precautions. Protests are a normal part of life in Paris, and most are calm. Given all the attention on this one, though, it’s worth staying informed.

Flights were expected to be disrupted, but that strike has since been suspended. No train or metro strikes have been announced so far. On Saturday, be ready to reroute or change plans, especially if you’re near the protest route. The next big date to keep an eye on is Thursday, November 5.

🚨 ZELENSKYY CALLS OUT WASHINGTON AND ELON MUSK’S SPACEX OVER STARLINK RESTRICTIONS AFFECTING UKRAINE.

Ukraine depends on Starlink-connected technology for military communications and drone operations against Russian forces. Restrictions affecting military satellite services have raised serious concerns about Ukraine’s ability to defend itself.

🇺🇦 Zelenskyy has criticized the restrictions, putting renewed scrutiny on the U.S. government and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk over decisions affecting technology Ukraine relies on during wartime.

The stakes go far beyond satellite internet.

A U.S. company’s technology plays a role in a war involving Russia, while Washington remains a major player in Ukraine’s defense. Decisions affecting that technology could have consequences far beyond the battlefield.

Could this escalating dispute pull the United States deeper into direct confrontation with Russia—and risk triggering a wider war, potentially even World War III?

That is a question worth asking, even as the restrictions alone do not mean a world war is imminent.

Who controls the technology? Who makes the decisions? And what happens if this conflict escalates further?
